Woodgreen Pets Charity

I went looking for a companion and one cat picked me, she came home a week later with cat flu. Wood Green said bring her back and treated her without cost, (money was not the issue but I was very gratefull) and gave lot's of support and advice. That was 9 years ago.
I try to go to the great days they organise, which vary from Medieval to Crafts, Antiques etc.
Always enjoyable and superbly run.
Good food, knowledgable staff, and a credit to Animal Rescue!

This is a great place to visit if you are looking for a new pet or just for a family day out, they hold various events throughout the year mostly at weekends, look on their website or in local press for event details. There is also a cafe which sells great food, a little shop and a little play area. The staff are helpful and imformative and are always on hand to offer advice or information. I used to go here all the time as a child, during the Summer Holidays it was a cheap day out for the family free entrance, nothing to pay for (but maybe an ice-cream) and it kept me and my sister entertained for hours, if not whinging for hours after for a dog / cat / rabbit of our own (maybe that was why we got the ince-cream, as bribery?) For those of you that do not know, Wood Green Animal Shelter, is a place where strays / unwanted pets and also those that the owner is no longer able to look after. Then the public can then visit for free and, if they want, purchase a pet after Wood Green Representatives check that you are a suitable pet owner. We love going to look around Wood Green. They have cats, dogs and small animals. They also have horses. The pets are very well looked after and it is always clean and tidy. They also have a great pets store which has some very unusual things in. The coffee shop is also very nice they do great cakes and sandwiches. The Wood Green shelter has plenty of parking for the car. They often hold large events there such as craft fairs etc. They really do great work!

This is a lovely place with many animals and quite a variety of animals. There are plenty of cats and dogs eager for a new home. The animals are kept in great condition and need to go to good homes. Even if you are not looking to house an animal take your kids as they will enjoy seeing so many animals up close. The shelter runs on money raised from charities, so if you do visit it is good to make a donation. If you go near xmas there are quite often crafty markets and other shows. It is not just the older animal that needs a new home, they frequently get kittens and puppies. Please if you are able to, then at least make a donation to this worthwhile cause. The cost of rehoming an animal is not very much and the animal will get so much enjoyment from being provided with a loving family home.

Woodgreen has a big carpark with a short walk to the main bit. Woodgreen is a good place to go to rehome and a animal or just to go to see animals. It has a pet shop and a charity type shop. In the pet shop you can buy most things for your pet. In the charity shop you can buy things like clothes,cds,cards,brick-a-brack etc for very cheap prices also staff in charity shop are friendly. It has cats,dogs,small animals and horses and staff that are always around to help.

Great place to visit, nice cafe on site and a fantastic pet shop too. Hold a lot of events here some free others you need to pay to attend. Staff friendly and helpful and seem to take great care of the animals. Everything from cats to horses here.

We got our two cats from here over a year ago. Its great here, They have events throughout the year, which are all good for the family. Pets are well looked after.
