A new Turkish Restaurant at the end of West street and the start of Glossop road.
Tried it 3 weeks back and overall was a mixed experience. However food-wise not as good as Zeugma on London road.
The place is quite spacious with the bar on the left as you go in, and the open plan traditional barb-e-que range next to it.
There was a good selection of hot and cold mezes and charcoal cooked kebabs as well as some traditional Turkish fare.
There was three of us, we opted for 5 mezes and two main courses. Meze's- Borek-cheese pastry, Sasuka- aubergine, onion and potato, Lentil soup, Another (can't remember the name) was a full medium size aubergine stuffed with onions, tomatoes and peppers, Hellim (haloumi )cheese, all of which were perfectly done.
The main course we shared a Adana (traditional minced lamb on skewers), which also came on big plate with salad, bread and rice, the kebab was a bit greasy for my liking, they may have even brushed it with olive oil before serving to keep it moist and 'shiny'-bad idea guys!! The other main course was Chicken Wings again this came with same extras, some of the wings were still pink/red in the middle (this is a big no no!!), you can pick up food poisoning from under cooked chicken. We did'nt complain because we were pretty full from the Meze's. The bill with a few soft drinks, Turkish tea and a couple of small deserts came to around £50. Because of the greasy main course and undercooked chicken I probably would not go back in a hurry.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
