Located in a cute neighborhood, I was drawn to the outside patio.
It was a great spot to eat lunch, enjoy a pisco sour and people watch. However, I wasn't too impressed by the food: My tuna carpaccio was way too lemony/sour, and the texture of the fish was a bit strange - kind of like a proscuitto texture. And for my main course, I had asked if they served any chilean seabass and I was pointed to the Merluza. It came as a thicker cut than what I was expecting so was very hearty and could have used more flavor / sauce. I paid a bit more than I would have liked to for the meal I got, but still a nice meal in Lastarria thanks to the patio!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 19 de mai. de 2017
Another in a long line of business lunches during my week-long trip. This is a solid 4-star restaurant. Service was great and the recommendations of our server was spot on. There also have a very good local craft beer and wine selection as well.
For the life of me I can't remember what we ordered for Apps but I do remember we were jockeying for the last morsels.
I had the congrio and it was baked to perfection. Others at our table had the Combo meat plate, baked white fish, and the squid/squid ink risotto. You would think we had not eaten in days as we devoured our lunch.
Yes, this is the tourist area but at lunch time the area is bustling with the local lunch crowd and of course tourists. They do have a patio and it is a great spot for people watching. Being four guys we did a lot of, ahem, people watching. Lastly if you are seeking a cheap lunch go elsewhere but I believe the price does match the quality of the food.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Fernando L.Cutler Bay, Estados Unidos2939637 de dez. de 2019
Great restaurant, nice ambient, looks like a old fashion bodega. Big wine menu but I'm looking for the dishes, risotto of salmon was great, simple but delicious.

This place was a nightmare as our first attempt at visiting a restaurant in Santiago. We, four well-traveled women, sat down to enjoy a pitcher of sangria and reflect on our first day of touring.
Maybe it was our "activewear" attire (we had arrived off the plane that morning and were trying to power through our first day without sleeping) and they assumed we didn't have money. Maybe we were too happy for the 3 tables of ancient couples around us.
Whatever it was, it was rude, unfair and a shock. We signaled the waiter to order another pitcher. He asked if we were ordering food, which was eventually part of the plan, but we did not want to yet. We were informed this was a restaurant and we needed to order food. We informed him we were unaware there was a hidden timer set from when we sat down to when we were expected to order food. We asked him if he wanted us to leave, and he said yes.
It was 7pm on a weekday night, hours away from a typical busy time for a Chilean dinner hour. There were hordes of empty tables. We were not drunk. We were not being rude. There was no reason for them to be so inhospitable.
We gladly took our leave and enjoyed a beautiful dinner with wine right down the street, but not after being charged $50 USD for one pitcher of sangria and a bottle of sparkling water.
Skip this tourist trap. There are many way better options right down the street (see other review).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jessica B.Kansas City, Estados Unidos123159179831 de mar. de 2017
The lamb dish was tasty and so were the pasta dishes. Really liked the flavor of the risottos. The mushroom veggie risotto contained several different types of mushrooms.

We both solidly liked it. Great location, I love sitting on the patio and the dishes we had were good. Free wifi was nice too.
I had salmon and croaker skewers over oyster mushrooms. DELISH! Though, I loved the tender flaky fish, the oily-ish oyster mushrooms, I didn't love the combo together. I ate each separately.
Husband had a seafood stew in a tomato-based broth. Broth was great and I kept spooning nice big slurpy portions for myself. We also had beers - Kunstmann stout for him and ..schloss taraboya?.. For me. I need to look up exactly what I had. Both are local Chilean and both were very good.
Why 3-star, not more? Because it was clearly geared towards tourists, especially price-wise. This was our most expensive meal in chile so far, by more than 10,000 pesos. Comparable to downtown DC prices. So while the food was great value was not.
Still, this is a decent place to go in Lastarria and we definitely enjoyed the food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Andrew E.Princeton, Estados Unidos619121 de dez. de 2014
We wandered in here on a lazy and warm Sunday afternoon. The outside tables, perfectly shaded drew us in, but we ultimately ate indoors because the outside was full and and preferred by smokers. Our Spanish is lacking so we were happy to be guided. My had the medallions of lambs and lentils. Lamb was well seasoned but not quite as tender as I had hoped. The waiter designed a small garden salad for me that would serve one. It was simple wij heart of palm and avocado but all the ingredients were fresh. Kids had gnocchi and vegetable/meat ravioli. Both reported the food as good.
My wife had the Cosmo Patagonia. Spicy. I had a glass of house Cabernet Sauvignon, trying to avoid the wine list. Drinkable. This restaurant would score less in NYC but here it stands out with a good combination of food and ambiance.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - George J.San Ramon, Estados Unidos1031273 de abr. de 2019
This is the best restaurant I have ever been to. I have never had better octopus or tuna! I am requiring that my family enjoy the magical dinner that Anita and I had! You will regret not trying Sur Patagónico!
