Troy, Troy, Troy what have you done? How could you take your eye off the ball like this? I once thought this was a fantastic concept--extremely well-executed--but, it has really gone downhill.
The first disappointment was that the staff was not wearing masks, contrary to the commitments on the Web site. That left me wondering how many of the other Health and Safety rules were being ignored. The one rule that was definitely not being ignored was the 3.5% surcharge on my bill for back-of-house and health/safety expenses, though.
My next frustration was QR codes. The restaurant provides a menu-sized, laminated page with a QR code as the only way to access the menu and wine list. Hey Troy, guess what? Not everyone has a full battery on their cell phone, or a QR reader, or constant Internet access, or a large enough screen to see tiny print, or any number of other things needed to comply with this mandate. Perhaps you could post a sign that says, "No Smartphone, No Service," just to clarify things.
A thorough search of the restaurant finally produced what we were told was the ONLY (outdated) printed copy of the menu. No list of beverages, so we ended up with drinks that we really didn't want after an unsatisfactory interaction with the server.
I was again disappointed to see that one of my favorites, the sweet potato fries, had vanished from the menu. We tried the onion rings instead. They were excellent, perfectly battered, piping hot, very fresh, and delicious. I also enjoyed the buttermilk ranch dipping sauce. We then moved on to burgers.
I ordered one of my favorite combinations: an Angus burger with Swiss, grilled onions, and sauteed mushrooms. I was accustomed to getting fat, juicy, flavorful burgers here. Wow, has that changed. I received a wimpy, flat patty that was well done, instead of the medium rare I had requested. The portions of cheese, onions, and mushrooms were equally skimpy. What a disappointment. I should have sent it back, but I was hungry, so I ate it. It wasn't terrible, but not the quality I was expecting.
My date fared better with her creation: an Angus burger with Pueblo green chilies, smashed avocado, and balsamic glaze. Her burger was properly medium rare and she said it was quite tasty. This was her first visit, so she had no basis for comparison to past glories.
Troy, I don't understand why you have let this great place deteriorate so badly. Maybe business is OK and you just don't care or you have taken on so many things that you just don't have the time to pay attention here. I'm very sad. -

Service here is good and the fries are super good! I hate to bash the burgers, but they are not my favorite in Denver. (I'd head to Cherry Cricket over TAG in the future).
I got the classic Angus burger made in BULLDOG fashion (cream cheese/ deep-fried jalapeno, & Cholula aioli). I tasted a lot of bun and lettuce and burger. It was decent, but not as tasty as the fixings should have made it. I got a side of truffle aioli & parmesan fries which were really good! And, I had a few of the sweet potato fries which were also good. I'd come back to try a few more of the sides.
There was no wait on a Saturday evening for our group of 4 people although it was really packed in there. We sat at the communal table, which was A-OK with us. The hostess and our waitress were very prompt, friendly, and helpful. I'm pregnant, so I didn't get a drink, but the cocktails looked interesting and good and they do create a mocktail version of the cocktails which is always appreciated. I'd go again, but if it were up to me, I'd visit another restaurant for the best burgers. -

I love Troy Guards restaurants but his burger bar needs some work. I got the veggie burger, sweet potato fries and Brussels. The veggie burger wasn't very good, there were hard pieces of sweet potato in it and it had no flavor. The added avocado mixture was tasteless and there are no vegan options for the sauce other than teriyaki. The Brussels were huge and not the best. The sweet potato fries were the best part. Service was decent. Toilet was broken, floors are really sticky. Needs some love.

First visit here tonight and it exceeded expectations! Zan, the GM, shared some great history of the location and surrounding neighborhood. Tori, our Server, was incredibly knowledgeable and answered all of our questions about the menu. The crispy Brussels Sprouts were amazing (Chris the Chef shared some pointers to try at home), and the fried pickles were perfectly done. All 4 of us had different burgers, and they were all very tasty- especially the veggie burger. Sweet potato and truffle fries were really good. Would have loved to have tried the fried Oreos for dessert, but we all were stuffed. Would highly recommend for a fun night out with friends!

You have a wonderful location which has a lovely patio and wonderfully welcoming inside. Your waitresses, waiters and bar tenders are very hospitable and knowledgeable. The hamburgers are fabulously delicious because they are made to perfection. I have also had your sandwiches, which are incredibly tasty. Nestled in a quaint little neighborhood strip. We visited on a monday after going to the zoo. It's not too far away from Denver zoo, and had great reviews - not to mention sweet potato fries which is a must of any burger joint we visit! :)
It wasn't very busy for a monday afternoon, and we were seated right away. Server was very helpful in navigating menu for us first-timers, and we were able to order and get our food within 15 minutes. Awesome service!
Best was diet cokes for the road. It was hot, and we were thirsty. We'll be back for a good, quick burger at a reasonable price; and a sweet, little spot to visit. -

Really!? I didn't have the same experience as some of the other reviews with the bison burger..and for $14.50 expect it to be 'superior' on a tasty bun! (like they used to have) The cheese wasn't even melted and the onions were also cold. They even forgot the cheese on my husbands burger. .No excuses, it was lunch time and the place was almost empty..
The only reason for 2 stars...the sweet potato fries were delish and HOT...go-figure .. -

Veggie burger was good. I can't say if it held up well or not as I had it on lettuce. If you do this beware it is an extra $2 for it to be on a slice of butter lettuce. It's listed on the menu as being $2 more - it's just extravagant. The sweet potato fries were done to perfection though!

I was excited to try their veggie burger as there was good reviews. When I get there the staff was friendly, but they don't check on you as much. I ordered the veggie burger for myself and a chicken tender plate for my young daughter. My veggie burger was lukewarm and not tasteful. The sweet potato fries I ordered were okay. My daughter's food was what determined for me not to go back. She barely complains about her kid dish and she said it tasted bad and smelled weird-the chicken tenders that is. I took a whiff and it smelled spoiled. How does one mess up chicken tenders?? Well it can happen I guess. I love trying new places and I was disappointed by the quality taste of the food here.

We came with a out of town friend for dinner this past Saturday. We had made reservations and were seated promptly. We ordered two sets of fries (duck fat and sweet potato) and some drinks. Sadly, the fries never came until after we received our burgers.
The atmosphere was great ..not too loud but lively.
The food was great. The burgers were juicy, large, and the toppings worked well.
However we were never offered a second round of drinks and even our waters were never refilled. We ended up finishing our fries without any water. This was disappointing. Overall the price was just just over 80$ with tip for 3 of us. I just wish the service was a tad better. -

This has become our favorite neighborhood spot. So good that my husband and I brought both sets of parents when they visited from out of town, within a month of each other. The vibe is laidback and quirky cool yet still family friendly, for any age. Apparently they have great mac and cheese but we've only come for burgers. You choose your base patty, style (toppings), and bun. As someone with gluten issues, I especially appreciate that I can order a gluten free bun OR a naked lettuce wrap. I've ordered both ways and equally enjoyed each. We especially love the Bison burger, with the Colorado Proud and Lady Gaga styles. The sweet potato fries are awesome. All the food was fantastic, but my favorite part of all is the pickles! HOLY COW. They are like true homemade dill pickles, very similar to the ones my Lithuanian grandmas make. Probably not for everyone, but the pickles are the major highlight for me. I would eat here every week if we could!

Aw man! Had to bump this thing down a star after a not-so-great experience at TAG last night. My fiancé and I walked over here around 9 pm on a Thursday and were seated really quickly by our super sweet server. We each ordered a drink (a beer for him and a glass of rosé for me) and an order of pickles to start. I'm pretty into those pickles and would definitely order again for a lighter, crunchy starter.
For our dinner we split an order of sweet potato fries and I ordered the "Congress Park" burger with bison as the base. I asked for it to be done medium and was super surprised when our burgers came out after less than ten minutes. After a few bites I realized why--my burger was basically raw. I'm someone who can get down with a pretty rare steak or other cut of meat, but when it's ground bison it's just a little less appetizing. Our server was really sweet and sent it back when we showed her, but the gal who brought the second one out had no apologies whatsoever.
Our bill for a couple burgers, drinks, and a shared order of pickles and french fries ended up being $60 with the tip--pretty steep for a just okay burger experience. Love the convenience of this Congress Park burger spot, but I'm not in any rush to come back soon.Esta avaliação foi …?

Came here with my family around 2pm on a Sunday. We had a short wait before being seated. The menu works by picking a base meat burger and then adding to it. I ordered the veggie burger ($9) and then each additional thing you want for it is added for an additional price (buns, toppings like lettuce, condiments). Sides are also extra and we decided to split one since we didn't want to each have to pay for one. We went with the sweet potatoes which were a decent serving. We got drinks for reasonable prices (esp since it was not happy hour). It ended up being a bit more expensive than I planned but overall a decent place.

My husband and I were looking for a new place to have dinner on date night . Tag Burger is the perfect burger joint. It's a small neighborhood restaurant that is casual and inviting. I love the Salmon Burger. I also love the fact that they offer gluten-free buns. Definitely try the sweet potato fries. For the meat lover my husband enjoyed the bison burger

Ok, so I know its a burger joint, but this place has amazing pickles! And, pickles are my jam. Their Kirby pickles are crunchy with a kick, a little spicy - just the way I like 'em. If they sold them by the jar, I'd buy them. Seriously. They are that good.
The burgers are pretty excellent too. The buns they use remind me of an everything bagel and just make it their burgers that much tastier. They offer lots of options to meet your personal burger craving. We always get their crispy brussel sprouts with lemon, which are amazing. You also can't go wrong with their sweet potato fries, and the truffle fries are another fav.
TAG also serves up a pretty decent selection of beers and if you're not sure which to try, they will gladly give you a taster before you commit.
Also worth noting is their friendly service. Every single time we've been to TAG the service has been prompt and our servers very friendly and accommodating. Next time you have a burger (or pickle) craving I highly recommend checking out this sweet little neighborhood spot. -

While visiting our daughter and son-in-law in Denver, we got to go to TAG Burger Bar. A must try is the Brussel sprouts with truffle oil and parmesan. The sweet potato fries are hard to pass up. But the burgers are the BEST. Truffle shuffle, Lady GAGA and American Slam and many more...but these were our favorites. Local beer and specialty drinks are a nice treat with the meal. Reservations not required but I would recommend.

Super yummy. Defiantly fills you up. We had fried pickles, 3 different burgers, sweet potato fries, green chili fries, a milk shake and beer. Everything was great and so was the service. It is mostly a burger place but there are a few other things on the menu. The local beers didn't have descriptions but I just told the server what I like and she picked the perfect beer. I would eat here again. Bonus, if you are at the Denver Zoo this is less than 10 min away but off the beaten path.

I love this local neighborhood spot. I have gotten a few burgers that are all good but I like to make my own with American, bacon, and mushrooms. Simple and delicious. Sweet potato fries are much better than the regular fries. Fried pickle spears are amazing with spicy ranch. And hey have deep fried Oreos when you feel like being gluttonous. I'm a huge Oreo person so the temptation is always there but I mostly resist. Service is always good, make a reservation on the weekend.

Ambiance: quirky, possibly verging on hodgepodgey? Seemed like they threw too many different schemes at the wall and unfortunately they all stuck. Bathroom did have walls to write fun messages on, but the pen was all dried up...which leads me to the food.
Was going to get the salmon burger, however the server said he thought it might have flour in it, so I went with the turkey burger. I got the "lettuce wrap", which came out as two wet pieces of butter head lettuce with the patty sitting on top. The lettuce would actually have been appropriate, had it not been thrown on the plate as an afterthought. My turkey burger with pueblo chiles was small but flavorful. My wife had a beef burger on a gluten free bun and a balsamic redux with onions and "whipped" mozzarella. After discarding the crumbling rice bun (but not before it robbed the burger of any balsamic...it was so thirsty), she was disappointed to find about a half ounce of dried mozz cube adorning her patty like an unpopped whitehead. Actually, she just told me it wasn't juicy enough to be a whitehead...my bad.
After asking twice about our order of forgotten duck fat fries, which came with "TAG spice" that tasted like sugar and paprika, and then twice for some mustard to flavor said fries, we were about done with our experience. We won't get into the Caesar salad which came without any of the toppings listed in the description...
The server never bothered asking how anything tasted, or else we could have mentioned any of these hilariousities.
On the flip side, the wines were fairly priced and tasty, and the house pickles followed suit. Be forewarned that the sweet potato fries, according to our server, also come breaded??
Not what we were expecting from a restaurant in a group with such a swell reputation, so maybe just stick with a drink and a pickle, and save your burger fix for a Bad Daddy's or Hopdoddy.Esta avaliação foi …?

My partner and I live right around the corner and hit this little gem up at least once a week-some weeks more. The servers are always nice and personable. We almost never finish our order of sweet potato fries before our burgers come. We always go for Angus burgers: old school style-delicious every time!!!! So grateful to have an exceptional burger joint footsteps from our door!
