The Beer Engine

Traditional looking from the outside with a spacious more modern interior. Do not let this put you off however as the real ale that you can get here is worth going for.
Maybe it misses having an identity - minor point though!

This is a nice little pub just outside of town. It is in the more studenty area of Coventry but has many other regulars too.


It's only a smallish pub but it has a lot of character.They often have bands on and the pub serves traditonal beers in a nice atmosphere.

Somewhat of a hidden gem tucked away from the city centre down Far Gosford Street. Last time I was in there it had a very cosy feel and there was some decent live music on. It's also a great place if you enjoy a good quality pint.

Looks like an ordinary local pub from the outside, but over the last few years this place has been turned in to one of the best pubs in Coventry. Candles out in the evening, and a very good smoking area outside, lend atmosphere to a pub playing great old and new music. Live music is put on every Friday and Saturday, along with occasional beer festivals to add to the usual 6 real ales. The staff are friendly and interesting, as is the pub dog!

Fabulous pub. A real pub serving great beers, I love Belgian beer. We have popped in and not known that a band would be playing, a real bonus, as the music was great and there was no charge for entry.
We have taken friends and they have all loved this pub too. My Mum and Dad drink there early in the evening and it was at their suggestion that we tried it. I'm so pleased we did.
A gem in Coventry city centre.

Probably my favourite pub in Coventry, most of the staff are a bit nuts and there's regular live music of a high standard. It is a bit out of town, but definately worth the walk. More of a weekend pub if you like it busy, as during the week it's fairly quiet and relaxed.
