Schnelle Liebe

So I hear it's incredibly difficult to find a delicious burger in Munich or at least one that is like those we have in the States. So when I read the great reviews for Schnelle Liebe and how their burgers are some of the best, I had to give the place a try!

Initially, as visitors, we got a tad lost searching for the place. But eventually we found our way. More of a bar than a cafe, it's about the size of a postage stamp. And it's definitely a popular place, even mid-week. With our minimal German skills and with a friendly bartender who spoke some English, we figured how the place works: order at the bar and snag any open seat you can find. There's no true waiter service although they will bring your food out to you. I thought it was going to take a while for a table but we luckily snagged a tiny table after a 15 minute wait.

The atmosphere is fun and lively, a great dive bar scene with upbeat music and neon hues. The burgers took a while (about an hour) as they were slammed but we kept busy with lots of beers. When our food finally arrived, I have to say, the burgers are DEFINITELY worth the wait. The juiciness of every bite was almost unbelievable!

I highly recommend a visit to Schnelle Liebe if you seek the best burger in Munich. I have to knock a star for the confusing setup and long wait but it's probably worth it. I'd definitely jet back over there any time I'm in town!

Amazingly good burger and chicken sandwich! Sooo flavorful! Great fries. Noisy place with great vibe. This was out last dinner in Munich before heading home to SoCal. Fun. We are low 50s and we OLD for this bar by factor of 2. But who cares for good food and cheap beer.

When I first entered the Schnelle Liebe I was incredibly optimistic about the burger that I was about to order. I had heard from a friend that they were simply fantastic here. In addition, it was a Tuesday night and the place was PACKED. People were even sitting outside under the heaters in the rain. We, after a few minute wait were fortunate enough to get a table near the restrooms. I took all of this as being a very positive sign.
I really liked the super casual, "dive bar" atomsphere of the place! Beer crates holding wooden boards to form tables and "chairs" / benches for seating. The music was on the louder side, the place is small and cosy and it really is a great bar.

However, we went there for dinner due to the repuation of the burgers. Unfortunately, I was not impressed, nor do I think I'll go back to eat. The burger was really dissapointing. It was big, but the patty just seemed like the normal beef patties you could get at any street carnival. It came with potato wedges, which were tasty, but the portion was on the skimpy side. In addition, even though I ordered the normal cheeseburger, it tasted as if it had been cooked with jalepenos and was a bit too spicy for me.

Summary: GREAT atmosphere; not very good food.

The burgers are so great I do not mind the slowness of the fast food experience. I have tried out many burgers in Munich but this one is the best. I also appreciate the opportunity to play pacman and the lollipops.

This place does not live up to the hype. Burgers are overcooked and the service sucked. I like the location and the small, bar vibe but that's about it. It's too dark and I'm not even sure they gave me the burger I ordered! And fries were oily and soggy. Though note that I'm American and know a damn-good burger so I am quite critical when it comes to reviewing them.

It's not called "fast love" for nothing I assume! Small, fun, hip,low key and trendy local place with outdoor and indoor bar seating known for their yumness burgers and crispy, crunchy, starchy tater wedges. I really like this place! The place was loud, had some cool decor, punky 80's music and nice bartenders that were quick and efficient. It was crackin with younger professionals. A great way to have your dinner and drink afterwards too. We had two of the burgers and a grilled zucchini salad. The burgers were cooked just right and had a good smoked meat taste about them that made it very tasty and flavorful. And for those of you who like their burgers with a soda, I recommend trying out the spezi-a love child of cola and orange juice. Just enough fizzle with a bit of the orange twang. Gotta love it!

I had heard so many great things and I was so disappointed. Service was nonexistent. They forgot our order, so we ended up waiting 1.5h for our burgers. We asked for napkins, and the barman/waiter made us feel like we were such an inconvenience. Also they had run out of napkins so he threw down a roll of kitchen paper makings on our table. No cutlery, needed to ask for that too.

Honestly, my bad review is more about HOW they did things rather than what they did. They seemed a bit understaffed, and having worked in restaurants I know how it can be, but this dude had no sense of service whatsoever (offering a beer on the house while we wait for the forgotten food for example?) In the end, we actually asked for a discount (which i have never done before) due to what went down. The barman/waiter yelled at us, wouldn't take our money at all and asked us to never come back. No worries, we won't.

I never been a huge fan of burgers till i got to this place, seriously, these guys really know how to do a non burger eater to love burgers. The bar is small but cool, really urban/modern people on the hip side of the playlist. Sneak in, find a place or share a table with some absolutely strangers and enjoy the beers, drinks. They have heineken which is quite rare in Munich ( capital of only bavarian beer ). The service is really easy, go to the bar, say hi, order your food from a quite east menu, the dope ones or even more dope ones. Is a must try, i've been here 4 times in two weeks and i always loved it. Try the california love one for something cool...

"Schnell"? Probably a pun or something, because this place is anything other than fast. Decent burgers though, if you have a few hours to spare.

Tiny crowded bar scene. In the Hipster gay neighborhood so normally a younger crowd. Good burgers but still prefer burger house better. Good beer selection and outdoor seating for summer nights. Would go again because I liked the staff.
