Yes. I just ate the most delicious, authentically Italian, glorious slice of pizza (ok, it was an entire half pizza if we're being honest) for £3. £3 I say!
Upon first bite I was immediately transported back to the streets of Italy where a grab-and-go slice of pizza was so easily accessible, so cheap, so plentiful, so simple, so painfully delicious (I have burns on the roof of my mouth to prove it) that you couldn't understand how the massive pizza chains of the world, with their stacks of frozen processed meat and cardboard crust, ever gained such a stronghold on society... and then you realize that you can't get pizza like this just anywhere.
Lucky for me, this humble little shop on Chapel Market does just the trick, and bite after bite of authentic pizza glory reminds you of why you fell in love with this simplest of simple cuisine in the first place. It ain't pretty, but the pretension stops at the door as well, so you can sit and scarf in peace. No judging...Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Usuário do Qype (reyes…)Londres, Reino Unido51301216 de jun. de 2010
I found this gem in Islington's Chapel Market hidden away behind market stalls and inbetween the eclectic mix of shops that run the length of the road.
Pizza Mia has only opened recently and you can feel the bright enthusiasm from the staff to make a success of the business when you eat there. The venue itself is nothing special, it's the staff and the food that brings this place to life.
The pizza they produce is real old school stone baked Italian pizza. Prices are surprisingly low for the quality and size of pizza served.
Pizza Mia also do a takeaway service with good mid week deals.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kristina M.Londres, Reino Unido60321143 de out. de 2010
Listen up, people: This place has seriously good pizza! Forget Domino's, Pizza Express or any of the other chains, for here is where you get the real deal. Pizza that's actually made by Italians to Italian standards. Take it from someone who has actually lived in Naples!
The dough is perfect - not too crisp, not too stretchy, not too soft, just right. The ingredients are fresh, the tomato base very good and the service friendly. You can either choose from a variety of options, or simply create your own pizza. They offer a number of pasta dishes and salads as well, although I have not tried these (yet).
Seriously, the pizza here is so good (and definitely miles above other places in Islington) that I went for two days in a row, each time being satisfied for hours afterwards. You don't pay for the deco here, rather the money goes just into the food (and that is how it should be, if you ask me).Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Usuário do Qype (zombie…)Londres, Reino Unido313 de ago. de 2010
Being Italian and being very picky about pizza, it was a nightmare here in Islington to find something suitable for my tastes.
But then one day, seduced by the smell of basil, I went inside Pizza Mia and I ordered a pizza: instant love.
The pizza is authentic italian stuff and not merely authentic but also very good even for italian standards :p the mozzarella is good and fresh and the base is exactly as it should be.
When I feel homesick or I just fancy a good pizza, I know where to go.
Have the Bufalina, is simply heaven in pizza shape :pHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - patrick w.Londres, Reino Unido392053 de out. de 2010
If you are looking for an excellent Neapolitan pizza look no further. You don't come here for the decor - though it's comfortable and feels authentically Italian, unlike the many faux-Italian diners scattered around London. This is the real deal. Great dough, tomato base, excellent fresh toppings. Highly recommended. Open until 11pm; delivery option available.

decent pizza, better than most chains, but not anything to rave on about. I only had their standard pizza though, will have to come back to try the neopolitan...

One of the best pizza places in Islington. Fresh ingredients, lovely stretchy pancake style bases. The mozzarella was so creamy. My mouth is still watering and its been 20 minutes since eating the beauty. Really friendly staff too. You can get 12" or half meter size pizzas. I ordered the Buffalina. Loved it. If you are in to authentic Italian pizza you will too. Oh, and value for money is ridiculously awesome.

UPDATE: Pizza Mia closed...and remained that way for a couple weeks. And then suddenly, the same shop re-opened...under the name PIZZA NINA. Literally, they just switched a few of the letters on the sign. Otherwise, I suspect it is the same exact place and same pizza.

I only discovered they had closed after waiting 90 minutes for my online order to be delivered (the website was still up and running and saying they were open - yikes!) I did recieve a call from an employee about 2 hours after placing my order alerting me that they had closed...except by then, I had already bundled up, walked over there and found out for myself that it was closed.

Baffling, you can get half a pizza and a can for £4. Fresh, just crispy enough bread, no stodgy cheese overload. The guy in charge does appear to be Italian. They also have strange Italian soft drinks too.
