Fantastic.
This is the place to gear up and brush up on the history of the game. On this particular day, it was also a place to meet a few pros who were there to roll out the new Adidas jerseys that will be worn league wide this season. So, as the crowd gathered in anticipation a big SUV pulled up. Out pops Dwight Howard, Brooke Lopez, Wilson Chandler and Jordan Farmar. They shot a few spots for NBA TV and then signed apparel and merchandise. It's not every day that you get to meet an NBA champ and Vinnie Chase bouncer.
With the sorry state of the Knicks, you might have forgotten that NYC was the mecca of hoops. This store has everything you could want. Throwback and retro jerseys, hats and shirts. Got myself a sweet Dominique shirt and Bulls lid. They also have a bunch of DVDs and books.
Also loved seeing photos and the jersey of DRose right up front of the store. Damn straight. Go Bulls!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 27 de jun. de 2015
Being a San Antonio Spurs fan outside of the city of San Antonio or the state of Texas makes it difficult to find Spurs gear. Over nearly the past two decades, the NBA Store has been my only consistent source for authentic, high quality Spurs merchandise. I mainly order t-shirts (both short-sleeve and long-sleeve), but have also ordered replica game shorts, books, videos, and NBA Finals memorabilia.
I've also got non-Spurs merchandise from the NBA Store (e.g. New York Knick and Houston Rocket Jeremy Lin name and number t-shirts during the "Linsanity" craze). For Atlanta Hawks (my local team) apparel, I just shop at the stores inside Philips Arena on game days. In general, I've noticed the selection at the Hawks' brick-and-mortar stores are better than that of the NBA's online store. Prices are comparable.
To date, by far my most favorite product offered by the NBA Store are the name and number t-shirts. These t-shirts look just like the colored road jerseys worn by NBA teams, except they are in t-shirt form. They come complete with the NBA logo, team logo, and name and number of the player of your choice. I own five of these: Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, Al Horford, and Jeremy Lin (2).
Authentic NBA merchandise is not cheap. The aforementioned t-shirts are $27.95 each. Luckily, the NBA Store offers discounts and specials every so often. Sign up for the NBA Store's online mailing list to learn about these discounts. An example of a discount I've seen is a holiday promotion worth 20% off an entire order. It's a good deal.
You get what you pay for. Official NBA Store merchandise is nice quality. You can typically tell a difference between it and third party or off-brands.
Shipping is rarely, if ever, free. Returns can be made within 30 days of purchase. If shipping back to the NBA Store, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
Customer service is good. I had one incident where a large order took almost two months to arrive. I did not complain. The NBA Store ended up giving me two store credits: one worth $20 and another worth $15, so a total of $35 store credit to make up for their snafu. Not only that, but they also gave me a one-time-use coupon code for free shipping. It was nice of them to reach out like that when they weren't obligated to.
Finally, I receive the NBA Store's print catalog in the mail. It's full color, nicely laid out and organized, and filled to the brim with pictures of merchandise. Some of the pictures are just plain funny. It's one giant advertisement for the NBA. I remember one spread with a family sitting in their living room on Christmas day, decked out in Boston Celtics gear and opening gifts with Celtics merchandise inside. Wow.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 10862376260216 de jun. de 2015
This store is super dope! Love the amount of items they carry just like the online store. They mostly show cased the Warriors and Cavs gear of course due to the Finals. It's too bad they ran out of the Finals hats and still had a load of Cavs hats lol.
Bottom line, this store is unique and awesome. They have most of everything you can't find in malls. Great place to come for gear!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 14 de dez. de 2010
OK, let me start off by saying that I'm just not into basketball, I grew up watching it with my dad, cousins, boyfriends, etc ... and I just can't get into it. I'm just a hockey girl.
With that being said, when I walked into this store with friends I really enjoyed myself. Walking around, looking at all the memorabilia and games. It is a really fun store that kept me occupied till all my friends were done with their shopping -- and that's saying a lot.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Ron N.Los Angeles, Estados Unidos3122755281 de jan. de 2010
Holy Mackerel, now THIS is THE basketball store. If you love basketball you can definitely spend a few hours in this store.
Great displays including the hand print cement basketballs of all the NBA stars. They have pretty much anything you're looking for, from jerseys to keychains to Laker slippers like the ones I bought for $30 -- a bit pricey but are awesomely awesome.
If you love basketball you will love this store. End of story!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 798160428568 de mai. de 2013
Pretty nifty store! Good selection of gear for all teams, though I personally would have preferred a little more Clippers stuff. I guess that's to be expected when I'm not a Lakers fan though, right?
What I really liked about the store is things weren't super overpriced. Clippers hat was around $28, playoff t-shirts around $25. If they'd have had a Clippers jersey, totally would have bought it.
Definitely worth a stop in if you like any basketball teams.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 9 de jan. de 2012
Entered the store and was handed a pamphlet with the full NBA schedule for this season, very handy and great price for a souvenir (free!!).
Walked around, cool that they had TV's with the Clippers game on (Lob City!!!). Kinda Ironic that this LA kid went to NY and was now watching the Clips play. Later that night I also saw the Lakers destroy the Knicks at the Staples Center, sorry New York. Too bad all the Knicks games while I was in Manhattan were away games... we were staying in a hotel fairly close to MSG (Madison Square Garden). I really wanted to see Carmelo and Amare play in person.
About the store.. it's cool but I guess I was expecting more. Lots of merchandise but it was all pretty expensive. C'mon $30 for a snapback hat?? It's not even fitted. Biggest disappointment was the shoe selection or lack of. Can't David Stern hook up the store with better kicks? Would be nice to have more memorabilia but there was some. How about an indoor court or at least a hoop for kids to shoot at?Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 13 de mar. de 2011
I know I am like what????? NBA STORE-Closed I can't believe it. I wanted that Sacramento Kings DeMarcus Cousins jersey, lol. I was just around 5th Ave I swore about a month ago didn't remember seeing any signs about a move or closing. Just a ton of people hustlin and bustlin in the manhattan air, lol. I used to buy knicks tickets here too years ago, oh well. I will just wait for the new location to open. That sucks it would've had mad foot traffic in the place with Carmelo Anthony now on the Knicks. I used to always like shooting in the hoops on the lower levels and playing the video games in the main section. I have seen a countless amount of NBA players in person here including Jason Kidd, Christina Bosh, Magic Johnson, and my least favorite nba adversary but still fan of the guy, KOBE BRYANT.
***The jerseys here were very expensive even when a guy got traded like last year I looked at T-Mac Rockets jerseys while he was a memeber of the NY Knicks and they were like $90 for the official ones not even 50 percent off.
Honestly I always had a good time here. Great job guys, I eat, sleep and breathe hoops folks.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
