Le Pétel was far and away the best meal I had during my time in Paris. It is an elegant spot with amazing dishes. The staff is incredibly kind and knowledgeable. My friends, who are fluent in French, did an amazing job translating the long, extensive menu.
The menu changes regularly, but here's what we had: We started with a raspberry aperitif and a very tasty, creamy amuse bouche selection. I highly recommend the scallops and the sea bass. My friend also really liked her lamb dish. Don't forget to get the after-dinner sweet rum and the raspberry cream dessert (it was like a light napoleon, to me).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 13 de fev. de 2011
Imagine every good thing that a French restaurant could be....
This is that place.
Cozy, illegibly hand written menu, wonderful service, the Eiffel Tower visible right outside their door and the food. The food is... wow.
My sweet, upstanding, squeaky clean wife uttered an expletive after her very first bite.
My appetizer and desert were good but the cod was astounding. I'm shoveling it in making entirely inappropriate grunting noises when my wife said something. "I fant tof mow. Diff if jusf too goo". And I continue shoveling.
I walked out absolutely stuffed and eager for a walk, even in the rain, to work off a little of this dinner. Sweetie's so stuffed she almost can't walk. It was a wonderful night away from the kids made even more wonderful because it was a Christmas gift. Thank you Melo!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
