Homebase

I know my feelings of aging have permeated my reviews quite a lot recently but seriously, when you spend sunny Sundays shopping in Homebase with your significant other you know you're getting on a bit.

We popped in to get ourselves a couple of deck chairs for the garden, to make the most of the sunshine.

It's set out like every other Homebase - paints, varnishes, wallpapers, random home accessories, and garden bits downstairs. Bathrooms, kitchens etc on the mezzanine, plants outside.

Got a pack of two really comfy wooden recliners for £99! Bargain!

Oh dear. Like Katie B, I must have gotten older as I have also started to enjoy 'nesting' and improving our flat...and I really liked wandering around this massive Homebase, and I don't think that has ever happened to me before.

We came here to look at tiles (we were pretty sure we wanted some from topps tiles next door, but it doesn't hurt to look around and check other places first!!) However as this place was massive, and my boyfriend's parents had driven us here, we took advantage of the space in their car, and bought a few other bits and bobs that we really needed. I now have beautiful new bins...and LED light bulbs to brighten up our flat.

I really liked the selection of habitat goods...I didn't even know Homebase and habitat worked together until I ventured in here. I don't think I would come back here unless I can borrow a car! There are too many cute things, and I'd never be able to carry them all home on a bus!

Not a bad hardware store, and a good size. I don't know of any alternative nearby, so unless you plan to drive 5 or 10 minutes this is it! All the usual bits: a nice garden centre, lots of hardware and building supplies, and plenty of free parking.
