I've visited Carbon Bar a handful of times, to celebrate birthdays, to meet new significant others' over cocktails, to dance after one too many cocktails.
It's got an interesting look. It's not overly luxe and the bar is huge. If you can't get a drink you're here, you're not doing it right. The bar-tenders are happy to make you anything you want and seem to have painful addictions to getting talked into giving out free drinks by groups of pretty girls.
This is a fun place to go on a date. It's very darkly lit and intimate. I have never seen it overly crowded. The DJ plays a bit of everything and you can certainly sing to more than half of the songs. Everyone is usually pleased at this bar. Boyfriends have something strong, girlfriends have cocktail after cocktail, and groups of friends can eat late into the night with bar food that isn't greasy, unappetizing, or painful to look at.
It's a staple place and central for all of us to visit. Many nights you're one of a sea of beautiful faces and on others, you're part of a good crowd that wants to dance all night.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Katie W.Chester, Estados Unidos1995413424 de abr. de 2013
-Cool, large, multi-level club part of the Cumberland hotel
-No cover or queue when we went
-Everyone is welcome, no members only policy
-Good DJ, played harlem shake and then a song from the 60's
-Open late (3AM the Saturday we were there)
-Seriously everyone smelled like BO - not the club's fault, but honestly gross!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sinan O.Londres, Reino Unido1421820716 de dez. de 2008Primeira avaliação
Carbon is different, it is actually a part of a hotel and attracts a massive crows. I had never heard of this place till my friend invited me to visit his friend who was staying at the Cumberland Hotel. They had planned to meet in bar, we had to pay and when we met up with his mate inside, we found out that he got in for free, as he was staying in the hotel. He should have got us in for free too! Oh well.
It was a good night, there were a few birthdays at a few tables, and mostly everybody was dancing. I actually didn't buy any drinks that night as the guy we visited just wouldn't let us, he paid for everything. Played a good mix of music to suit a generic crowd and there was a real good vibe. It definitely sticks out in mind, it had a rustic metallic wooden décor with massive text on the walls, with loads of seating, and when we arrived, people were eating. To be honest I don't know why I haven't been again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Usuário do Qype (marshc…)Londres, Reino Unido2679135 de jun. de 2010
I can't figure this place out. I've been here late night & early evening, and would say it's definitly suits being a late night venue. The interior is very urban.. think copper, chains and wooden barrells as is the music, with r'n'b and garage spanning the last 10 years to present. However it seems to lack a certain atmoshphere, and really doesn't get busy until after 11pm, when you will need to pay £15 on a weekend to get in.
Drinks are pricy... only a couple of beers on draft, much more a cocktail, spirits and wine venue. Staff are also quite slow, at both getting served and being served. And if you do go for cocktails then depending on who serves you can make a huge difference to the quality of the drink.
I want to like this place, but seems like a lackluster effort each time...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Usuário do Qype (sophis…)Londres, Reino Unido586283 de jul. de 2008
Carbon isn't in the best location - Old Quebec Street is sat squarely opposite the giant Primark and venturing there invariably requires the Oxford Street battle, which is never fun. However, once you get there, you soon forget what's going on outside in the real Marble Arch world.
The decor is what you might call urban chic - chains and cages are combined with sleek surfaces and a sparkling bar for a look which is fairly unusual if not taken slightly too far. It occasionally feels more like a film set than a comfy bar.
The staff are super helpful and mix a mean mojito - always the litmus test. Might be worth repeat visits and certainly fills a niche if you're in need of a very large drink after a trawl round the shops.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Usuário do Qype (NilliJ…)Londres, Reino Unido3059420 de abr. de 2008
Carbon is one of them places I like to call backup places. Its one of those places wich are moderately good every week. Different, calm, cool crowd. Every one seems to have a good time at Carbon, not many fights and so forth. It is a good place, but it is not very interesting. Nothing really big ever happens to these clubs and they are very similar every week. Carbon is like one of these places. It has a fun atmosphere to it, it is just the same atmosphere every week. It is a fun club to go to if you just want to skank out and have fun lol. You can go crazy in Carbon and dont think any more of it. I recommend Carbon to people in big groups. It isi a fun place for big companys.
Pro's: Good music, good prices, good crowd, fun atmosphere and nice interior.
Con's: Nothing very interesting, very predictable and not different from other basic clubs.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anita R.Londres, Reino Unido32023 de mar. de 2009
Great hip-hop and reggae, including some old skool goodies. No cover or queue if you go early and pretty much everyone is dancing unlike many clubs where people just stand around holding their drinks. Generally a good night out although nothing else really around the area if you want to bar hop beforehand.

Nice place. Good variety of music, nice decoration (industrial style writings in the wall, lots of wooden barrels and a few nice places to sit and stand. Pretty interesting crowd mixed from very old to very young jeans and Tshirt to full suit and tie. Bar is ok but slow.

I should have known not to rely on a youngsters tip about clubs. Carbon is in the Marble Arch area. Decor was nice, It had a bunch of Barrels for decoration. Open area and some VIP area but i was hoping that since it was in the CIty that it will be diverse enough for me to have a good time but when i got in it was very one dimensional and basically pretty much a Classless Nigerian Affair and some random folks of African descent. Drinks were spilling all over the floor and the bar staff took forever to clean it up. It was hot in the place and i wouldnt say the crowd was that young but they were obviously young minded. After about an hour and a half i had to jet and get the hell out of this whack joint. Hope they have a more diverse crowd on other nites since i went on a Friday nite.

This is quite a cool bar in a weird part of London for going out - the only other bars near by seem to be boring hotel bars, so it's a good meeting place. They seem to hold some fun events - I went to a fashion launch party here and it was a fab venue for it. It's quite dark and moody and trying a little bit too hard to be trendy, but it sells champagne and plays good music, what more could you want!
